Built in beautiful Art Nouveau style the Municipal House in Prague is one of the more impressive architectural sites within the city. Built in the early 20 th century the building is not nearly as old as many of the other important architectural sites, however this is one of the things that makes this site stand out in the city. Tourists from all over the world come to view this site and it is often the venue for concerts and exhibitions seeking this particular building as the site for their event. Featured within is walls are works from prominent Czech artists from the 20 th century. Smentana Hall is located here and this is well known for being the premier venue for many concerts and events within Prague. The massive glass dome is quite unique and beautiful and creates an unreal ambiance for an event.
This is truly a central location for locals as well as there are many other halls here that host different event quite often. Restaurant and nightclubs are even located on the premises and it is located next to the Powder Gate, another important site in Prague. Old Town Square as well as Wenceslas Square and this site is home to the Czech National SymphonyOrchestra as well. This is also a very well known historic site in the country, well known for being the site where the proclamation of the independent state of Czechoslovakia took place in 1918.
This is a much more modern building than many throughout the city and thus it is built to better accommodate events of today. While it has been an important historical site here in Prague, the site is more known today as a top venue for events. From the gorgeous façade to the beautifully decorated interior this is a site that you will definitely want to see. While the tours may not be as interesting as other more storied sites in this old city, seeing a concert here is an amazing experience and this is the best way to see this venue in all of its glory.
The restaurants located here are also very highly rates by travelers and coming here for a little exploration before grabbing a meal and perhaps a night concert is highly recommended. Within a short walk to many other top sites in the city, this isn't a site that will tie up too much of your time if you have a lot still to see. Set aside an hour or so unless you are coming to see a show and you should have more than enough time to take a good look around. For an elegant venue that features top performances and an unquestionable beautiful setting, this is definitely a place that you will want to see. This is one of the more luxurious sites in all of the city and for the Czech elite, this is a gathering place that is unrivaled by other venues in the city with the only exception being the beautiful Estate Theater.
